Rickie G is a fast rising Japanese reggae musician from Tokyo and through Best Wishes, played for the second time in Fukuyama for their 8th Anniversary. Again, a little dark in spooky looking (maybe I was in a bad mood when I processed the photos) but they do reflect the environment, cold, majestic and haunted. These photos were on the 2nd day at 7am on a cold walk up [...] The night before the Mt.Tateyama bus tour I was deliberating what lenses and equipment to take with me because usually I just throw in most of my lenses and end up using only a few of them. The biggest decision I made…no Takumar lenses. That’s right, the trusty Takumar lenses were left behind to [...] Bus tours are for the elderly, the unadventurous and weak minded individuals who couldn’t organize a luncheon for one let alone a two day tour of the Japanese Alps in Toyama, Japan. So there I was, on the bus, with my wife (29 and the youngest there), her parents and many other middle aged [...] Busy, busy, busy….here’s a long overdue post and a new photo of Naomi at six months pregnant. I was so tired last night taking the photos that I can’t remember what lens I used to take the photo…anyway, it’s either the Soligor 28mm, Super Takumar 35mm or the Super Takumar 55mm…you’re choice. Strobist info [...] Every year I have a birthday, I’m sure you do too. This year (last Sat actually) happened to be my 30th and I got a few little photographic goodies. One being the Jupiter-9, the Soligor 28mm 2.5 and the Vivitar 50mm 1.7 which I talked about last week. I also happened to get a Fuji [...] The Jupiter-9, Vivitar 50mm 1.7 & the Soligor 28mm 2.5 all came today and I had a little play with them all. The Vivitar and the Soligor seem fine for what I paid for them (under $40 USD inc shipping), I’ll do more tests with them over the next few weeks and [...] I bought two lenses, both m42 screw mount from a Pentaxforums.com member, A Vivitar VMC 50mm 1.7 and a Soligor MC 28mm 2.5. Although I already have a Pentax M 50mm 1.7, it’s not a screw mount and it will interesting to compare the two. If the Vivitar is on par, I’ll probably sell [...] |
