Red Frame – January 2008 Dark Maiko #1-2 : January 2008 Pentax K10D : Pentax-M 50mm 1.7 @ f/1.7 Friends of mine recently had a daughter and in Japan, when the baby turns 100 days old, they have a little ceremony at the local shrine where the baby is blessed and whatever. Usually mum dresses up in a traditional kimono and dad wears a suit and poor baby is dressed in all weird [...] The Jupiter-9, Vivitar 50mm 1.7 & the Soligor 28mm 2.5 all came today and I had a little play with them all. It’s a little more artistic and which makes [...] Took a road trip to Kinosaki with the wife for our 1st year anniversary, it’s a beautiful little onsen (hot spring) in Hyogo prefecture. We stayed in a Ryokan (traditional Japanese hotel) with it’s own private onsen, free tickets to other bigger onsens and dinner/breakfast included. Not bad for $300 AUD for two people. [...] Here’s some shots taken from Hummock Hill in Whyalla, there’s some interesting views of One Steel, the foreshore and and the old WW2 bunkers. I used the FA 28-105 which was good for long distance wide angle and the M-50 1.7 for in the bunker (low light) and better use of DOF.
