The photos were taken in the hospital with the Pentax K10D, Helios 44-2 and the Vivitar 285HV with the Lumiquest Softbox III on camera (I [...] No I’m not really having triplets. Triptych, triplets…wordplay….whatever. I’ve been on a black and white frenzy lately but when I converted these photos, monochrome just didn’t work. I’ve seen some really nice high key photos which looks great with fair skin so I thought I’d try it here with Naomi who’s just hit 28 [...] Helios 44-2 : f/2 : ISO – 100 : Shutter – 1/180 This was one of the first photos taken with the Russian made Helios 44-2 m42 lens, a quick snap of Naomi, 7 months pregnant. Really nice, soft bokeh and sharp, even at f/2..check out the 100% crop below with no [...] After testing out the Helios 44-2 on my Pentax K10D, I realise now that I made the wrong purchase as I should have bought one of the Helios 44M series. The flange on the 44-2 only runs along the diameter of the M42 adapter, not the flange on mount which causes the lens to [...] I ordered a Helios 44-2 (58mm f/2) lens from ebay a few weeks ago and it arrived today. Supposedly it was new but it came just in bubble wrap and no lens caps. The barrel has a few blemishes and when mounted to the K10D, the focusing ring moves a little. Luckily, the glass [...] |
