A few months back I posted a few photos I took at a studio in Fitzroy and realised there were still a few left over from that session. Although the models are the same, I tried to create a different setting or mood either in the studio or in post processing. With these photos I had the model stand in front of a hot light, creating a rim of light around parts of his silhouette, contrasting with the rest of his profile but what I wanted to achieve was to underexpose the portrait, hopefully forcing the viewer to take a closer look and study the face, the shadows, the subtle tones and the light.
